Apart from the obvious (Chip, Filter, Exhaust), you will need a good Intercooler and ideally a Stage 3 Turbo to get to 200. It can be done on a Standard Turbo, but needs to be set up well. Possibly a cam too.

It takes more than an intercooler to give you 40bhp Bob!
You're looking at low comp engine for reliability as that power range

Doesn't a hot cam and low comp pistons make the RST gutless below 3000 rpm ?

Can anyone tell me what mine might be?

Mods are; chip, filter, zorst, kent cam, hybrid turbo with -31 and stg2 head. Decent plugs and leads on it, and boost is set to 12psi on std intercooler....

The previous owner reckoned on 190-195, but I thought dreeeeeeeamer and would doubt if it is much higher than 170bhp tops...

That all?

Was always led to belive that a std RST with jsut a chip, filter and zorst running 14psi wuold make about 165-170, so adding my stg2 head and cam, and the hybrid turbo I was guessing it would make 170bhp????

my series one which i had set up at jamsport on wednesday last week made 176bhp and 174lbft at 14psi. The only things it has had done is two years rest while I have been sorting out the body oh and it does have a piper cam I think.

Regards

GRS Intercooler
Standard Turbo
Piper 285T2
Low Comp
Unknown Head
Stainless Exhaust
K+N Induction Kit
Chip
18psi
NMS Setup

Unsure on true figure but believed to be around the 200bhp mark

i think people are getting confused between @ wheels and @ flywheel

my old s2 with evo 7 cooler, 15psi, k&n, scorpion exhaust (old type, not restricted), nms chip and setup and it made 208bhp (flywheel obviously).

AND the clutch was slipping.

A loooooong time ago I used to have 217bhp (if you want to be exact) with just a Chip, Exhaust and a GRS, at 18psi.

That was on an engine that done 120k miles and had a bent conrod

every car is different, i've had turbo's with the same set up, ranging from 174bhp-
191bhp.
as a ballpark figure, a non chipped S1/S2 with pipe & filter running 10 psi should
make 150ish bhp, chipped with 14 psi it should make 180ish bhp, then with a
uprated cam & cooler & 17 psi it should be pushing the 200bhp mark.
after this reliable power starts getting expensive.

another factor is where you get your car tuned, this can have a large differance
on different rollers.

LOL my car is about 160 Bhp at the moment
7.6:1 accralite pistons, new rods, balanced bottom end, Chip, filtter, exhaust, Grs stage 3 turbo, 5th injector, standard cam and head and a monsterous 12 Psi of boost
Im waiting for the rest of the bits to be done (ie bodywork) before i finally get a stage 3 head and put my 285t cam in it.
After that i should be running arround 24Psi and getting arround 240Bhp

When mine was 165bhp it had: Magnex, Chip (15psi), filter on 105k old engine.

To go to the next level i was told I would need a bigger intercooler and a Stage 1 Hybrid would see it 185-195 without too much trouble.

But I decided to go about 5 stages further

not doubting anything mate, mine went well at 10psi and arround 150ish bhp

It'l go well, just won't be as safe without all the other gear on top i.e intercooler, bigger turbo, cam - this all helps just doesn't get taken into account most times

It's like with modifying engines, you have to upgrade a million other thins too on the car, it just won't work modding one thing and not bothering about another...

all depends on how good your motor is to start, ive got a print from many years ago with just 15 psi and fueling done plus chip and roling roaded for 181 @ fly
by a good tunner on this board..
