I always wondered why my shafts were like this. Still, It cant work that good, Cant get any traction.

The thinking is equal length driveshafts help to minimise torque steer as the torque is transmitted to the wheels in equal lengths thus helping reducing the common fwd fault of it steering usually left on acceleration.
however it doesn't always work aswell as the theory as says it should.
LSD on the other hand is a bit different, one wheel will spin, this will lock the viscous diff and lock the plates inside together so you then have both wheels spinning, but usually you have the inside wheel spinnning on corners so the diff locks giving you much better tractio to get out of corners, and off the line.

the atb diff is an awesome bit of kit a friend of mine was running one in a s2 with very high power could nail it in third with very little torque steer or wheel spinnig. but 300bhp 1st and 2nd gear its going to be a handfull in a front wheel drive car. the thing is with the quaife is that if any cv joints go you loose all drive not like the gripper diff which will still drive i belive
