Default URGENT ADVISE NEEDED RE ACCIDENT!!!

Rachel's car has been written off as most of you will know.

The cheeky fookers have offered us just £900 for the car and are saying they want to take the wreck away. We told them we wanted it and were told they aren't legally allowed to let us keep it.

We were expecting a piss poor offer and were intending on making up for this by breaking the car. What do I do now and what arguement do I use?

We've allready told em to piss off. Rachel has pointed out the car is modified and they have details of the mods so they raised their offer to £1100

Salvage company is on th ephone wanting to know when they can pick it up and have been told to fook off. Rachel is really quite upset over the whole matter

The car is yours untill such times you agree on a setelment.

If you allow them to take the car away you have nothing to negotiate over, condition of vehicle, fair market value etc cant be argued. Best of luck.

Cant you remove some of the bits before you give it to em & accept the £1100 offered? Not obvious bits, but bits that you wouldnt notice unless you knew what you was looking for

they are correct

you are now not allowed to keep a written off car they can give you the auction details or the breakers details tho of who it will go to and u can negotiate with them about buying it back

they offered me £2400 for my cossie

i canceled the claim learnt a lesson and reshelled

i was quized over were my cone filter had gone etc when it was inspected

risk never being able to drive legally again

not really worth it is it ?

its cost me about £3k i reckon to reshell my car ive lost so much money crashing it

live and learn

but the accident was totally my fault so

if it wasnt your fault i would cancel the claim with you insrance company and take the other parties insurance company to a accident damadge or loss company/solicitor and do it that way

Until you accept or cash a check your car is still your property. I'd say you either have two options, as stated above, re-shell, or haggle and hope for the best.
Good luck mate hope you get it sorted.

All the insurance company is doing is looking at prices for a H plate XR2i...... and £900 would be a very good offer if it were a std car..... hold out for a good price and don't let the fookers shaft you...

Cheers everybody

I've allready whipped the sounds out of it and sold the harnesses. I want to get the Recaro's out as they are rare. Will be on the hunt for a pair of stock 2i seats on Sunday and will be bringing Alfie up to carry bits home in.

No way are they getting the Momo stuff from it Robbing bastards

Tell them to fook right off.

You are legally allowed to keep the said vehicle until an amicable settlement has been made. If you are unhappy then get cutting bits out of fastford showing its worth £1500. Thats all I did and they shit a brick.

They will always give you what "Parkers guide" says until you prove them differently.

You got a solicitor on the personal injury side mate?? I'd be more than happy to take rachels case on and get her more than her car is worth

Let me know matey

Cheers McPikie

Always appreciate offers but it's all in hand at the mo. She's not too bad with the whiplash although still in dicomfort. She's more upset by the whole ordeal than injured.

You can always take an offer of their less the "salvage" value which equates to appx £60.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, reckon if you strip it you will make a tad more over that mate.
