Default Cossie Dizzy...to remove or not to remove...

With going to a coilpack, what are the options as far as the Dizzyin concerned?

I could leave it in, take out the phase sensor and just leave the cap on but remove the leads?

still use the phase sensor setup and leave the leads off?

Remove the whole thing altogether? but what options are there for the oil pump drive?

Another cam sensor mounted elsewhere. Is the Cam covers ones ive seen the only option?

You can get a machined blank with the oil pump drive still attatched

and run a WRC cam sensor like I do on the cam cover

I shall see if I have any pics of mine

Cool pix. thanks Dave

Remind me how the oil pump drive and dizzy interface....???

whats the thread in the top of the dizzy drive part?

how do you get the alignment right for the sensor on the rocker? is there set measurements or is it by trial and error?

did you buy or have made all those machined parts?

It looks like machined billet for the blank, then the drive spline, removed from the dizzy and attatched to the machined blank. From memory. If you look closely you can see where the pin attatches both parts. Ring Harvey at SCS, im sure he can help you out with sourcing these

The thread on top of the dizzy, is empty.. i suppose for mounting or securing something or another to....

Again, regarding alignment of the sensor, speak to Harvey or the like

Jared,

The inlet cam needs machining to take the trigger....the blank houses a bearing which accomodates the drive through to the oil pump....

I have the drawing for the cam trigger/cam arrangement....its in the WRC prep manual.....

The thread in the top is to make it easier to remove...

Everything else is how Dave describes....

Those parts are available from Mountune......

If you know a machinist...the blank is machined from a piece of 40mm bar...the new bearing is an interference fit and you use the bottom half of an old dizzy machined at the top to fit the internal diameter of the bearing....

Bearing number 16100

HTH
