i think the tyres also have a big impact of the balance of a wheel, so maybe swapping them around, or just removing and refitting will improve the balance??

i had a really bad noise/vibration on one of my cars .. turned out to be a tyre problem
only found it once it had gone flat tho just glad it wasnt whilst i was driving

 

112's are like plastic They are very soft and the legend procedds that they bend/bunkle quite well......

As you've got big brakes you are quite limited to wheel choice. Maybe some speedlines? Like Dave Escos?

 

I was on the motorway for like 5hrs straight and vibration developed from rear it got worse and worse till I could only do 40mph. I had already stopped and could not find anything wrong but in the end had to stop as it felt like wheel was about to fall off When I ran my flat hands round the tyres one was totally out of shape changed for spare... cured
When I showed the tyre to the garage they said It had started to delaminat probably from heat or faulty tyre
It was real scary when it happened M25 90mph 6pm and dark
Check your Tyres as it might not look to obvious.

 

balancing wheels/tyres is not as easy as it looks, most people especially at the like of the 'roadside tyre companies' dont know how to get it right with the minimal weights.
counter balancing is a problem ive seen so many times when a car has been to the likes of kwik fit for instance. which is putting one weight on the wheel ( inside for instance) because the balancing machine tells them to , then re-spinning the wheel and it will tell them to stick another weight, same side, but in a differant position or opposite the original weight.

can be attributed to what your experiancing, or just generally shit wheels or, as there more commonly know rondells

I wou;dn't be suprised if Kwik Fit have just balls up the weights. Personally I'd get them re-done by a specialist.

 

Dave....Don't want to put the mokkers on things, but this is exactly what happened on my Sapphire and My Hockenheims. Had a vibration from the back of the car at about eighty mph. Took the car into a tyre place who had some modern balancing machines... They balanced all four wheels for me, and off I went down the motorway...... Exactly the same... Vibrating at about 80mph.. Took the car straight back to the tyre place and they took off all four wheels and put them on the balancer again to check them and they were perfectly balanced.

Then............. One of the guys looked under the cover that they place over the wheel while they were balancing them, and called me over. He showed me the run-out on the inner side of two of the rims....Both wheels were buckled on the inner rims..... You could see what appeared to be the wheels bobbing up and down... Thought I was F-cked, but someone recomended Ian Jemmison Engineering, and he "Somehow" got them perfectly round again, and now I have no vibration at all.

And I drive really carefully, never been kerbed, never been in a pot-hole, so I have no idea how it happened.

Also my buddy with his 4 x 4 Sapphire recently sold his Rondells, and when the guy came to buy them, (Obviously a guy in the know...) checked all the wheels and one of them was buckled on the inner rim...... They're a great looking rim, but like mine....made out of pig metal.

Would be well worth you getting the wheels spun up, and checking the inner side of the rim for any run out our buckling.

dave have you got the right spigot for your wheels as if the wheels aint sentral they will always vibrate

 

They dont need any centre rings to locate


Have had Rondell's for 5 years now think i will be fine on putting wheels on the car

I had similar problems with my EsCos on Rondells and it was buckled inner rims causing the vibration. I replaced 3 rims due to it. I still think they are the nicest looking rims for an EsCos but they are made out of old coke cans. I have a couple of spare Rondells in the loft if you are stuck Dave.

 

I agree that YUM looks absolutely ace on the Rondells but they are just sooooo damn soft.

I had my rondells (many moons ago) on my car for two months and they must have buckled 10 times in that time - I used to call them my chocolate wheels! I even had a special curved dowel made up so that my mate could use to straighten em! One was even buckled on the inside rim before it even came out of the box!

It'd be a tough choice to replace now with a different look once you are used to that stunning look!
