Totally agree with you there mate, wicked GP, loved every minute, loads and loads of overtaking going on all through the race!
Simply mesmerising drive from Raikkonen again, going from 22nd to 3rd!
Shame about McLaren's reliability issue's really, that guy could be a double world champion already if he had a more reliable car!

PMSL @ "the button spot" he was just drilling people into that braking zone in the 1st corner almost as if he had an extra set of brakes fitted to the car somewhere
Rosberg's williams has a handy Cosworth engine in it doesnt it. I heard it from on board camera on down the main straight at the end of the race where he was trying to overtake coulthard and you could hear that he had wound the revs up MUCH higher to overtake on the main straight. They say that Cosworth can get that V8 to rev to 20,000 rpm for qualifying and overtaking in the race.
Schumacher's ferrari is quicker this year but IMO takes ALOT to drive it fast. On Sch's qualifying laps you could see he was adjusting the brake balance and diff settings for every corner and i reckon it was a brake balance adjustment that Massa forgot to make that caused him to spin at the end of the main straight.
Also did anyone see that graphic showing the throttle and brake use in real time for Alonso and Schumacher? The Ferrari has a very smart auto throttle blip on the down change of gears and you could see it on the green throttle useage graphic on screen but the Renault wasnt doing this
All in all a cracking start to F1 this year

Re: What a great F1 race today!!
was a good race shame jenson couldn't make a decent start to hold 3rd place, but a good start to the season
what is it with you norfolk inbreds? the word is 'showed'. i've got some customers from lotus who say shew
i also saw that, but thought that maybe it was schumi doing it, which wouldn't surprise me as he is a driving legend. depends where the data is generated, throttle pedal or throttle plate.

Absolutely awesome race. Best I have seen in years. Reminded me of back in the 90's with a lot of overtaking and nail biting times.
Best part is even out here we get the ITV commentry as our oz guys dont go to the rounds except here so I still get the ever enthusiastic boys
Rosburg definately something in the making and a great drive from Kimi
Superb, looking forward to the Melbourne round and also the rest of this season

3 sessions
2 of them 15 mins each, the slowest 6 out of each session get knocked out and they don't get the chance to get a better qualifying lap in
so the ones that are in the top 10 of the first two sessions get through the the final session
This is 20 mins and they have to put in race fuel (the amount they would start the race with) they can either go round and round wasting fuel so the car is light and then get new tyres for a one lap fast lap
The Honda teams opted to chase set-up and used 2 new sets of tyres which they can use in the race if they want
so basically the last session is a free for all and you can do what you liek (like it used to be ages ago)

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
raikonen is the best driver for me ....another storming drive ...shame about he car (again) can't blame him if the rumours are true about him already signing for ferrari next year
what's with button ..good drive ,but is it the tatics or does his car not have it at full race distance..how many times did he have to overtake montoya,he was very good under braking at the first corner ...but seemed to be doing it to overtake people he'd already overtook in the first place ?????
qualifying was an improvement over last year as well.....burning off fuel in the last session was a bit daft ,it was just putting miles on engines and tyres, but overall a very good first race of the season...

Glad you enjoyed it guys - i was heartbroken when we found out Rubens Barrichello's car had shat 3rd gear - but fair play to him for finishing and not retiring.

i strongly disagree. he had a good race with some excellent overtakes. the car is maybe still not quite there yet, but i think his first win will come this season. coulthard also had a good race.
