Default Wireless Broadband users..

How far away can you be for it to work?

Just out of interest really, I may be relocating to a summer house in the garden and wondered if it would stretch to save on cables

Cheers mate,

I just tested the portable phone [BT Diverse 5110] and it worked ok at the sort of distance I'm looking at [though my bitch sister i was ringing never picked up ]

Is that any indication of the range though as it was probably 50-75 foot from the base unit and going through a few brick walls?

I get crap range on mine. About 30ft? But that is through 2 walls. Works in all the bedrooms, half of the lounge and by the kitchen window lol

it all depends on your router as some are better then others. but the further away you are from it the lower signal strength and link quality become.

i'm sure you can buy a signal booster somewhere though.

Chech out the first, third and fourth links on this page. Should extend your range, you can attach them to either your basestation or your laptop. People have had links upto 12 miles with the cantennas. I've had about 2 so far.
