Default Anyone know what the most powerful FWD in the UK is?

Obviously proven not pub talk 'guestimated' figures, (without NOS too) surely C&B's is the biggest bhp FWD Ford (or any RS Focus more BHP?) sorry I can't remember what they got recently?

Just went to a Clio r/r day at BB Tuning on Sunday, their 16v 1.8 Clio turbo'd engined R5 got a result of 378bhp at the fly! (with 325 lb ft torque and 345.4bhp at wheels) Which got me thinking this must be up there with some of the top FWD figures?

Dont know currently, but mine will be 500bhp+ soon

There are a few 400bhp+ FWD vauxhalls (off gas) too, Neil Adams for example.

Blimey, be interesting to compile a top 20 fwd, (especially against engine size) anything over 300bhp is an achievement in my books let alone 400+! Can't imagine getting traction in any of these is easy.

Andy Nicholls's Rover 200 is easily most powerful at mo.

3bar boost (held, honestly) through a GT35R

IIRC that 11 sec R5 is not road legal (the white one with perspex windows?), I saw it run at the national day - sorry I should've stipulated that - I also mean BHP not quarter mile, BB's R5 would be shite at 1/4 mile no traction

In a mini?! lol it would need anchoring to the ground! (I'll go have a look at the thread...)

AN Racings car (Andy Nicholls) has 500+bhp maybe alot more through the front wheels, think he's ran an 11.4 sec 1/4 with 170+ Top Speed at the mo

I've heard quotes around that it might be nearer 700bhp but think thats abit much realistically!

3bar (44psi) held boost on a 1.05 ex' housing GT35R, and Nitrous.

How much power you THINK that should be then, realisticly...

177mph way before even the crest thats half way down brunters, with no traction.

Yeah i think it will be a bit pointless, but i just wanted to build an engine to that spec for something to do really.
Doubt in reality it will actually be any quicker up the quarter than a nearly standard 300bhp calibra turbo would be.

If its not making 700bhp on that spec, then AN obviously doesnt know what he is doing IMHO

Its got that sort of power written all over it i reckon.

How the fuck do I know Steve!? Thats why I wrote that i've 'heard' that figure banded around, I'm not a tuner neither do I know anything about the correlation between turbo's, boost or exhaust housings etc!

If he has got that power thats awesome, and if he's got 'no traction' doing 177mph half way down a runway then i'd love to it run 'wtih' traction

My point exactly, thats trying to say he dont believe it for some reason.

So I asked why.

As there nothing about that car for me not to believe that.

IMHO, if it ran slicks its a drag car not a road car, the fact it would be road legal on a different set of tyres makes no difference to me, its still NOT road legal when it ran.

he is looking at 200 mph plus 10 second quarters and he is well on the way
he has had some runs recently with timing gear and has done some unbeliveable times
i dont want to put them up as he is getting quicker and quicker
but i no he has done a sub 8 seconds to 100
without the nos
the wizards are sponsoring him this year at totb and they have hired brunters to set his car up
and some mag is featuring the day so i dont want to burst there buble but trust me it will take some beating
thanks jc
