Need MORE Power!! (update)Car Sorted By MSD
Took the cossie out for a spin and met up with a lad with an imported subaru today.Its got a standard turbo he said but was running more boost so we went out to the country and it fooking killed my car
Mines stage3 and it was very even upto 5th gear then he just shot right up behind me.It was like I had hit a brick walln the car struggled to get past 90.I thought this cant be happening.Luckily on coming traffic saved him going past me.I think I need a new chip and bigger injectors
What spec should I take it to without going low comp?
Im really gutted.

The engine was built by MAD and has a stage4 ahmed chip in it.
Wrc head gasket, rs500 cooler and its on greens with a T34 but its stage3.
Its also got a -34 on it.

What about light blues? Surely with the power Im running the car should still get over 90mph easily.Could there be a fault with the chip or ecu?

What rev's does it hit 'the brick wall' at? Could be a plug lead breaking down, or one of the sensors - any other symptoms (smoke etc)?
Has the car driven okay prior tothis, or have you just fitted a new chip?

MAD fitted the chip with the greens fitted so I assume its correct.The car was on men and motors at well lane and pulled 315bhp with its old owner.
Ive put new leads on it last year from Msd.The car seems to hold the boost in top gear but nothing seems to happen after 90mph.I think brick wall was wrong choice of words maybe I should have said its like an elephant jumps into the car it just seems to do nothing after 90 and the lad behind me said it was a bit reeky.

i agree, deffo something up with you car.
no way a shonky stage1 scooby should waste a stage3 cos! get it back to MAD for a good look over, no doubt mark will be able to advise

Mark is a bit far away and I like working with Stu and Kenny.Im sure they will sort me out.Could the map sensor be dodgy.The engine that Mark built should be bullit proof so Im thinking that its a software issue.I wish Id never gone for a drive now

my stg 3 4x4 pulls like fuck way past 90 i often think 5th gear is like bein in 3rd it goes that quick !
deffo get it to stu and kenny as something is deffo wrong there

Yes Im going to ring them on monday and get the thing sorted.The cars great in every gear until top.Strange aint it.I hope its a simple thing thats wrong.

My top gear is as flat a pancake I couldnt mistake it for for 3rd.Kenny said the chip wasnt right for the car but it was 8pm on a saturday night and Id been there since 8am and we all wanted to go home.

5th gear should fly mate ! thats why i love motorway driving so much lol
if im doin 70 it doesnt take long at all to reach 100 much to the anoyance of porkers, mercs beemers etc lol

Yeah the lad in the scooby asked what bhp I had and asked if it was running ok.I said the car was having issues at the moment and was going to be tuned very soon.Im even starting to think about getting that engine off Ranj for a proper job eh

even in my less than 20 psi car i dont think 5th is 'flat'
not like you describe anyway!!

It should have a -31 not a -34, it should peak at 25psi dropping to 21psi,
The Chip will work or it wont it wont be in between,
I would look for a fault somewhere, As a guess it sounds like a fueling problem the way you describe it,
1st to check is fuel flow I would run the return line in to a can and time it over 30sec this will tell you if it is flowing correctly with no boost pressure on it,
Then check for fuel line kninks,
After that get someone with test equ to test it.

Cheers Mark.I called you once before about this car it used to be L2 GON.
I can check the chip for you.
Car boosts to 28psi for a shot time then drops back to 23psi.It should go like a rocket.

I remeber the car now chip should say P8 3br 803 FR, AB,
The is a boost limit @28psi and it should be on a -31 with about 1/2 hole preload and on stock boost valve, Check to see if the loom plugs have been removed,
Also check volts @fuel pump.

Mark the chip says 3BP8FR 803 AB installed 27/4/00.
The loom plugs on the passenger wings are still there if thats what you mean.The -34 was set by kenny at Msd.I hope its something simple.

There is definately something very wrong it should pull like a train up untill at least 130 then start slowing down.
In mine Iam always trying to change up at 130 but it is allready in fifth, I need a sixth gear

The boost controler is set to run with a -31 it will work best with this,
The -31 opens ealier than a -34 but is more progressive so correctly fitted with the right boost program written in to the chip the -31 is the best one to use.

Thanks Mark at least I know its still the same chip that you put in but the performance seems really poor compared to what everyone else is saying.I will take a good look at the multi plugs 2moro.
