Default Mapping Q: Can you have an "economy" map?

OK was thinking about the dual map facility on my Emerald ECU (can flick a switch to flick between 2 maps) and got me thinking about having 1 map for full power and one for economy.

now, is this really possible? or is it a case of you get 1 map thats right, and nothing else? i can see ina turbo car you could run 1 with less boost etc. but ona nasp car is it possible?

i was thinking about maybe having the closed loop settings on the economy one activate easier, maybe dropping the revlimit down a bit, and making it not quite so rich (obviously i wouldnt be doing any mapping myself )

so, thoughts guys?

just get the car mapped properly and then your sorted,,,,,, have it a tiny bit leaner at the bottom end and it will be better for fuel and power,,,,,,,,,, when done properly

well the leaner the mixture the more power it makes to a point aswell as making the economy better

just the CO % will be off aswell as the tress will die and whales get confused and swim up the thames

but the only part of that sentance i read was" its faster and tbh if your spending less on petrol you are STILL saving the planet by less use of valuble fossil fuels,,,,,,,,,,,,, and high emmisions just means we get longer summers,,,,,,,,,, cant fail imo

no just i remembered when i posted a similer thing before and rick said that it could be done and theres the advatage of better power wit the down side of emissions,,,,,,,,,,,, not a major concern considering i microwave all my food and poored battery acid on a trees routes so it would no longer have leaves so my CCTV was able to view the cossie

you you wouldnt runa car slightly leaner and in turn save on fuel consumption aswell as gain slightly more power and the risk of emmisions that comes out of the car then ?

or another point,,,,,,, why would i fucking lie about something that i heard on a website that the person who im lying about uses,,,,,,,,,,,, seriously

the ONLY thing is i MAY have misunderstood but thats NOT TAKING FUCKING GARBAGE,,,,,,,, its called making a mistake or a |GENUINE case of ignorance

seriously stu these attacks are just getting petty now

In theory you could have two completely different maps programmed into your ecu and then switch between them manually. But wether or not it would be of any benefit to you you'd have to speak to a mapper about it. If you're using emerald i'm sure dave walker would be able to help you?

pmsl.....

I think ginge means - that if u run leaner than stoich, that there is a rise in exhasut NOX content.

And Jim...

The Whole idea of mapping a car is that it is set to the optimim conditions that you ask of it at any one time. Ie, when u are sat at a steady 70, there is no need to chuck in extra fuel for cooling purposes, so u run at stoich - or leaner if u havent got a cat. Then when u open her up, u'd see an increase in fuelling to 12.5 or so for a NA car. So, the exonomy mao is built into ur right foot....
