if you get a producer but cant get the car to an MOT centre
cos its fucked, but you need to get the HORT1 stamped with your shiny new front plate on, what can you do?
as i gotta do it by friday next week, and my turbo rebuild kit aint turned up yet so cant get the car moving again yet...
am i fukkered or will they use a photo as proof lol?

I got a producer as my insurance certificate was just a cover note and had expired so went and got another cover note, they said that was no good as there was a laps of time between the 2.
Just told them it may take a couple of weeks to get a certificate for the year and they made a note so you can get an extention.
DONT do what i did, i never bothed going back and got done Ł60 court costs

I got a producer just after getting my S2. I had lost the MOT certificate so contacted the previous owner to see where it was done so I could get a duplicate. The guy had unfortunately gone on holiday. I produced my lisence and insurance and explained the situation but was still reported for failing to produce the MOT. About 8 weeks later I received a really shitty letter from Herts Constabulary telling me it was my duty to provide the documentation but on this occasion no further action would be taken

i told ya, im an expert 
ill see if the mot place will accept a photo of the days newspaper next to the plate (that should be delivered on monday ) but they will prolly tell me to fook off

Right so you got a producer, THEN took the car apart? Wasn't that a little bit dumb?
Why not go and sort the producer BEFORE you take the car apart, knowing full well that when messing about with old cars there is no such thing as a schedule and things ALWAYS overrun and get you landed in shitty situations like this?

fudgeass, serious post now! i didnt produce a few years back produce, then about 6 months later got a court summons, now i wrote a letter explaining why i couldnt produce the documents at the time of there request, and with the letter, sent recorded included all the documents and a sorry, one week later all returned saying would take it no further!
now it might not be the same for you but, oonce the cars sorted and you have all the needed paper work, take it to a station even if months later, and explain, if they dont accept it, wait for the summons and writea letter, why you was late and that you did try to produce, pcs no. included, and hopefully they will say ok thanks and drop it!

do you not know any friendly garages you do not have to take it to an official MOT station, i used to get mine stamped here at work and we have never done MOT's, we are just an approved garage. Never had any comebacks

fuge ill have a word with a bloke and see if he can sort somink for ya if you get stuck
that form AINT a re-MOT its just to show you rectified the 1 problem with the car mate
thats all they can do when you dont have a plate,,,,,,,,,, its ironic they fine for a smaller plate
but see what happens, getting a rect form done is alot easier than a moody mot these days,,,,,, just a shame garages charge for it
oh and they make a not about the car on record about not having a plate and then next time you get tugged they will attempt to take it firther,,,,,, thats assuming that you dont have a velcro plate so you can change between your show plates ect,,,,,,,,, ive NEVER had a issue with that story BUT on my runabout i use both plates as its not worth the hassle on that
