Default Whats this worth (for Old Skool boys!)???....

I've been offered a Mk2 Escort RS2000 in bits! Basically its a rolling shell in primer (ready for a respray), has the original dash/doorcards, bucket seats and a rollcage. Also it has already fitted a 2.1Pinto on twin carbs, 5 speed box and is sitting on RS Capri wheels (I think). It also has the logbook (I think) and has been dry stored since 1993! He has all of the other bits like lights, glass etc etc all in boxes! Only things missing is a throttle cable and one of the power leads!

Any idea what that lot is worth? Its not accident damaged I dont think. Also what colours did they originally come in?

Cheers
Chris

Its not rotten at all! No rust anywhere, not underneath, inside, bottom of the doors! Its been dry stored since it was completely rubbed down and primered!

i would say between 3-4k if its mint. My Mk1 mexico shell went for 1500, and it needed new floors, and a few other bits.

I think 3-4k is a bit optomistic to be honest fella's!
Its a mk2 remember and not a mk1 and imo worth about 2-2.5k if its real and everything stacks up correctly

Cheers for the advice guys!

Spadge is right I think 3 - 4k is a bit optimistic! I'd expect to see that if it was all as genuine as it seems, all painted and running sweetly - not in the state it is now (paint needed etc...)

Whatever the condition though im still hopefully getting a bargain!!!!

3-4k might not be optimistic depending on that engine imo. to give you an idea i paid 1500 for mine (base model 1.3l) with a 2.0 pinto and twin 40s and all the bits to convert it to the pinto from the crossflow it was running before, but that hadn't been primed or anything and was a bog standard pinto out of a sierra. I would personally say i had a right result, but if yours was say an HT or HPE engine it could be putting out some fairly serious power and would obviously be worth more money, not to mention it'll be worth more just cos it's an rs2000.
