any battery should work and fit on the tray. as long as it has the same terminals obviously

i was told your alternator size should dictate your battery size...

yeah BUT the alternator will STILL work for a while, wont fry it over night and a BIGGER batt wont NOT charge at all

example is i left my light on in me cabrio from 7am to 7pm yesterday, batt was TOTALLY dead, i used a jump pack to start it and drove home 10 miles and the car started the NEXT day FINE

so i think the batt is fine

have to tested to see if its actually charging,,,,,,, mine wasnt but cause i got a transit battery on my car it took 3 weeks for my car to run the batt dead

turned out the enticer switch wire was cut

test that buy disconecting it and the running a wire from it towards the battery, then start the car and then when the car is running touch the live on the battery ( just touch it though, dont hold it there) and see if you hear the engine change tone for a second as the alt turns on charging

Spot on. Please ignore Parts people who think they are better qualified than Technicians. They all think they are superior. Depsite not being able to get the right parts more than 40% of the time....

OK where talking abotu fact here mate, not what a email from head office states,,,,,,,,,,, some techs make me laugh, its always the ignorant ones who strive to know they now EVERYTHING

your telling me that a problem with his car not starting or batt not charging is cause hes got a 60AH batt on his fiesta turbo,,,,,,,,, get bacl to the re-mit text books mate and let the grown ups take over sonny

strange that my cabrio/cossie/orion and EVERY CAR IVE EVER OWNED and i still own a faur few tbh have NEVER had this problem caused buy a frst aly not having the minnerals to charge it

infact i will BUY this person a battery if its proven that the BATTERY and alt combination is the ACTUALY REASON why hes got that problem and not something else like a fauly alt brush/enticer switch ect

cant say fairer than that can ya

how confident are the techs ( or should i say fit it and test it monkeys)

Bottom line sunshine, is that what Morto said is correct. You need the right size battery for the right size alternator.

You going on about bad starting and not charging is irrelvent to this thread. You stated that any battery will work. Which it will. For a short time. And whats the point in fitting the wrong parts. Im guessing he';d rather do the job once rather than do it again when the combo the Ford Parts idiot sold him eithe fails to charge the battey fully or melts it through over charging. But then you fit diesel batteries to all cars, so why am I evem entertaining youy simplicity. Do you fit 30000W lighthouse bulbs in your kitchen
