Default 1.8t 20V VW AUDI SEAT LEON

Been looking at one of thease is a leon, done nearly 100k though, bt will it last? and anythink else to look out for?

i did a similar thread the other day, try a search for 1.8t general opinion was to get the diesel!

theyre not a bad motor, all i would do when you buy it is change the cambelt/tensioners/rollers and water pump

The engines are available for sod all nowadays so I wouldn't worry about it....
we see a lot of 1.8T's in with high mileage and they are fine as long as they have been looked after

Water pumps use plastic impellers that break off and block the cooling system. At 100k id expect it to have it changed to the metal impeller version.

Cam belt should be done @ 60k

If the car feels flat, could be a fucked air flow sensor - very common fault. Coil packs are shite, I carry a spare.

Drink petrol but very nice cars generally.

Parts are very easy to get hold of, because seat is VAG you can use seat/skoda/vw/audi parts departments. Pricing can vary massivly.

Any problems can be solved with vagcom diagnostic software. Best 'tool' ive ever used to solve problems. Plug it in, 30 secs later the software is telling you wats decided to act a twat. Love it!
