From people talking before everyone recommends a snap on one but it's a good bit over your budget.

I know it's over your budget, but you will no doubt only ending up buying a snap on at some stage. I've used other brands (cheaper) and they let me down. I think snap on have Christmas offers to get the 3/8 drive impact wrench (cordless) for around 250. You can pay 150 and then the rest monthly!

I've had a Snap On one about 9 yrs , battery is fooked now, need to get a new one - awesome tool.

The Clarke 24v one from Machine Mart is good for the money though.

Same on eBay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clarke-24V...7#ht_702wt_932

There's an issue with some links posted on here, there's a thread about it.

Just search for Clarke 24v impact wrench on eBay

I have a makita one, can't mind the model but it's the 400nm one, what I did was when I was needing a new drill a bought a one on offer with the same lith ion battery's and then bought the impact gun bare without bats or charger and got it for £130.

the most powerful one you can afford, the more torque the gun produces the more likley it is to undo the nuts and bolts that you want to undo.

a machanic who works for me has a sealy one and to be honest mate it is pathetic.

as said above snap on or makita, you buy one of them and you'll never need to buy another

We at work ditched our air guns for snap on cordless guns.

No more cold air and compressor running out of steam.

I've got the 18v snap on 1/2" gun and it's amazing. I've used it every day for over a year and a half and it's still working perfectly. Hub nuts, lorry wheel nuts, loves them!
