New garage started (Ramp fitted) all done
Think thats what you get when you upset the engineer lol the engineer was a total tosser to my missus but fine with my brother when he had to come out and speak to council man on site,
So guess the engineer "thinks" he can get away with speaking to my missus like a cunt, I neecto have a polite word at some stage
Its gunna be good to get a proper start on it tho cant wait

A lot of them 'types' think they can get away with it - my partner in my building company is my mum and you should see there faces when she fucking puts em in there place and tells THEM there job- Priceless.
i will be following this mate... one day i will be building my own garage, not someone elses!
[QUOTE=Matt Baxter;5588236]well Its been fucking mental here in the last few days,
I really wanted the Cossy kept here while the builders do the extension on the house but had nowhere to keep it out the way of them,
will let the pics do the talking for a min
little bro doing a bit!

So what did you pay for youre concrete ? Mines coming next weekend

the 2nd driver was very helpful just a shame the first one wasn't lol
If you need a long shoot tell them it's no good coming out with out them!!

i have a company at the moment that are quoting on my job for bifold doors atm.. want the details?

OP, Nice garage build by the way!!!
matt ,that engineer is taking the piss lol,the 10.5 newton block will oly be its strenght in compression which you certainly dont need .you do need concrete blocks but the stanard ones would have been more than capable .
ive worked on apartment blocks engineered by orav arups ,probably the biggest engineering company in the world ,and we built 6 stories of blockwork on 12inches of concrete and standard blocks

James, my mate is a hoddie and was telling me the same sort of thing, so once we have finished using him and its all signed off I am having it out with him
had 2 of the lads that are doing the extension do a bit of block work today for a bit of cash well Ł15ph each but they got a fair bit done

so at least its moving in the right direction now so thats me happy even if its costing me more than I wanted
but it was always going to wasnt it

yeah i'm very happy well other than having to pay them lol
one of the guys is only 21 and is proper quick and is more than happy to help me learn so I can get a bit done myself, although i think i will keep to the outer skin tho
oh and im doing all the lifting and shifting getting the blocks moved on to the slab with the muck truck makes it a bit easier for me still got to move around 450 over the next few days

i remember working in a builders yard years ago and we used to shift plenty of pallets of those 4 inch concrete blocks, but we only stocked 3 pallets of 9 inch blocks, and fuck me were they heavy
properly overkill for building anything other than anti tank bunkers

Got the brickie to do a day on saturday and then had a go at it today and got 30 blocks down in 2 hours so im happy with it so far

told the guy that I will be over boarding the blockwork with ply so not to worry to much about the finish but he still doing it like face work whereas mine well look at the pics lol

its still moving slower than I would like but at least it heading the right way now
this the extension we are having done not bad for 2 lads and 6 working days
