Rollcab security
i presume you guy who have boxes in a workshop its all insured etc by the company.
for those with them at home what security measures do you take, just got a 53" for the garage and want to make sure its secure.
due to weight etc i presume only way to knick it is out on its wheels so maby a way of securing the wheels ? only other way is forklift and that a big noisy way so if they gone to all that trouble its gone anyway.
any other ways of securing a roll cab ?

fit a burglar alarm to the garage/shed its in, this could also be conected to the house, so is good in a few ways
depending on where and how things are where it is placed you could go to the extent of having on of those little posts sunk into the floor to stop it being rolled away

Why don't you insure them yourself?

Why is it a joke? It's YOU that has £15k tied up in YOUR tools, not your company. Why should they foot the bill for something that isn't their property if they get stolen? That's like saying your company should buy you a new car if your's get stolen out of the carpark

Never had any trouble TBH .. As long as you lock the thing up and its full of richard then its like trying to Nick a safe.
Never Had any Company Insure my tools either .. Althou they should ..
Also Had tools supplied because of such discrepancies regarding Union Agreements.
They can get round Non-Insurance by offering an Anual Tool allowance.

I've been through all this at work recently and the boss got his insurance guy to come round and discuss how much we had spent on our tools etc and he upped the policy to cover all the tools. If the boss didn't want to insure our tools then we can take ours home and have them covered on our home contents policy and he can spend the £30k out on a toolset each for us to use
