once the cars back from my mates bodyshop, im wanting to start getting more power out the MFi engine, got a few cosmetic parts for it to tidy it up but im wanting to get some more power from the existing engine, but not a real amount of engineering or engine knowledge.
i know the most obvious would be changing to a replacement panel filter, 4-branch and stainless straight through exhaust but what else would be ideal for the car to get some more power from it but still remain reliable (ish) lol.

Youve mentioned the too big ones like the 4 branch and exhaust and a panel filter i'd say your next step after thats to get an uprated cam and abit of head work which is what i done then i upgraded to a 1.8 cvh out of a sierra
mark.
mark.

when upgrading to the 1800 would you just chuck the entire engine in or the bottom end only mark?
what kind of head work would be best? skin a bit off the head and some porting and gas flowing?

I just used the bottom end of the 1.8 because thats only what i bought but mine had been rebuilt.
Head wise gas flowing and polishing's what you need to have done when i had mine done i was told the valves are about right so theres no need to go for bigger ones

sweet mate, im sticking with some work to the cvh until it either blows or i can get the zetec engine i want and get it specc'd up to what i want hence the extra power etc.
how much are companies looking at doing the likes of gas flowing and polishing these days on CVH heads?

It varys loads from place to place your best to ring round and get afew prices i got a local company to do mine i cant remember off the top of my head ill have a look for the receipt but i rebuilt the head myself as this made it slightly cheaper then you can pop the cam and new lifters in if your going for uprated items
