Default MK 1 Sierra build Plate Data

See lower posts as to why information has been removed.

After looking into answering swoosh500's question about the coloured info plate on the slam panel of a 3 door Cosworth, I found the info in a book I have called Factory-Original Ford RS Cosworths. After doing a search on here it appears that the question has been asked before but I could not see an answer, so I thought it might be worth scanning and putting the info up for future reference. Sorry if I missed it and it has been posted before. I will do the same for the 4 Door and Escort in separate threads. Cheers David

Just checked mine and it all matches. Phew! Interesting information though.

Mind you, it's a bit late after nearly 28 years to take it back to the dealer!!

Did you also check the chassis plate data in the other thread. You may get to go back to the dealer yet! Weren't you in New Zealand a while back? Down Christchurch way I thought. Cheers David

Yes we were there back in January, wove our way down from Nelson to Dunedin and then back up to Christchurch.

Lovely part of the world, will be back one day when we have a bit more time on our hands, but when are they going to mend Christchurch?

And yes, have checked the chassis plate too. All the number and letters check out, and the engine number matches the vin number as well, so all good

You're in breach of copyright. Remove the photos.

I suspect DRW might be short for Dan Williamson the author of the book in question. Photo's removed. It makes no difference to me as I own the book along with the ones for the MK1 and MK2 Escorts. Just trying to help out my fellow forum users. I copied a total of 9 pages from a 160 page book which I thought was within the law as follows "According to section 35 of the Copyright Act, up to 10% of a textbook may be photocopied for educational purposes. This is measured in pages. Alternatively, an entire chapter of the book may also be reproduced for educational purposes." If anything I would have thought I was helping by advertising the books availability to a group of people that would probably be interested in owning it. David

Thank you for removing the posts, David. There's quite a difference between photocopying books for schools and providing information online - information that not only took me many, many hours to research but also includes original graphics we produced, and even photographs i took of my own cars.

It's just a shame you didn't just ask first.

Anyway, thanks again for removing the posts.
