Just spoke with Uncle Tony and he don't think its much of a problem.

I have been told to remove the stud and cover it with sealer and stick it back in.

The stud goes very close to the water way and can break through.

The waterways are very close but if using the correct stud, tightened up to the correct torque with the correct loctite they shouldn't move on tightening, but often will come out when undoing them.
The way to get it to stay put is not by over tightening the nut, make your own locknuts, I've never had one come loose on any car in 30+ years, inc ones used on track, only takes a minute to make as well.
If the sealant doesn't work, and I suspect it won't due to the heat around there, try some Kalimex K- Seal.

Think it's Loctite 270 (Red) for studs etc, but may be wrong so feel free to correct me!

It's amazing how far a few drops of antifreeze smell will go, especially when cossie paranoia sets in!!

Took the stud out today as i was changing a few water hoses, covered it in loctite.

Going to let it go off overnight before i refill with water.

Will let you know if i have been lucky tomorrow
