Default Sierra/Sapphire Cosworth Data for certification

Hello everybody, i'll write because we have some problems with the certification of the Sierra and Sapphire Cosworth. We are trying to make a Historic Registry with certification for our club in Italy but Ford Italy doesn' supply any data for Cosworth in general because they say that they don't have (note that we are an official approved club by Ford Italy) so we use Microcat for Escort Cosworth. Also we don't have alreay found a Database for the others Csw to verify the specification originally sets by the manufacturer. We have many versions of Microcat but none have data for Sierra or Sapphire.
Considering that many cars of this kind now are considered 'ancient' (20 years reached) with all the facility reserved to them, at least we want to release a printed certificate for our members.
Is there someone that can help us? If anyone have some info, please give them to me.
Thx in advance.

I think they are more after information like "which car (which VIN) had which colour, which options fitted, etc." Microcat knows that kind of stuff but only from 1992 on AFAIK. For earlier Saffs and 3drs... No idea... I'm quite sure Ford really doesn't have that data anymore.

I see.

I was after similar information a while ago: I asked Ford how may Crystal Blue Sapphires were built - the answer I got was "We only have that information for current models", so I'm inclined to agree that they probably don't have that information any more.

Oh, and a question on my own behalf for the thread starter. I've got an italian red-top 4x4 Cossie without Catalytic converter. Why does it still make the same BHP as the green-top cat one? Does it run less boost or something? I would have expected the cat version to have at least 5 - 10 bhp less.

I expect that the standard map on green and red tops are ever so slightly different...would wait for an expert to confirm that though...

It's more likely they are different, the non cat being as you say better, but ford don't state this, as some countries the cars are taxed according to power and some by emissions, ie it puts them lower down so more "friendly" to the insurers/owners cost wise ?

As far as i know the maps are the same, its just the green top software made use of the lambda and the red top didn't?

Still weird that the catalytic converter doesn't rob any of the BHP...

The jury's still out on that one. I wouldn't have thought the blue oval would've risked incurring the wrath of Trading Standards etc, by selling something that's not as advertised, ie, making 10bhp less than stated in the brochure. Mind you, they also claimed that the 1.25l Zetec was 'nippy'.

Yup, that's a fact

I guess Ford just didn't want to promote the fact that "environmental friendly = less powerful". So therefore they just quoted the same BHP for both versions.
