How do you mean hole assembly?
Do you mean drop the lot down into the car with the head linner out or glass out then remove the blind out the car

It all goes up the way mate. It's only something like 10 screws that hold it in.

open the sunroof, remove all the screws from the top and lift out the sunroof complete, you may have to do something with the winder

nice one so it pulls out the top I take it you don't have to drop the head liner then

there are 2 screws inside by the winder too and then the whole sunroof assembly comes out

be careful not to scratch the roof and it's always wise to put some heavy toweling on the front as the whole thing slides out over the windscreen and is about 3.5 foot long in total

it's also worth while getting a mate to lend a hand so you can pull it out from either side rather than standing on the bonnet

There is a sequence to do it iirc you start with the sunroof open and work your way to the front ending up with the sunroof closed and screws out, then remove the winder handle otherwise when your having to move the sunroof to tilt it to get the screws out all the cables fuck up.

If you don't want the blind anymore I'd go the easy way snip snip snip cos your bound to find something upsetting if you take the cassette out, and getting it back in is a twat cos it's closed and you need it open to put screws back in.

Ps one of my snap on batteries took a charge the other day!! Seems they don't like being cold

It's a bit of a pig job, I replaced the one in my car as the original one was filthy, needed a clean one after I re-trimmed my head lining,

To get the sunroof out as said remove all screws and winder, iirc the roof has to be fully opened, once all fixings are out of the way the whole mechanism slides out forward towards the bonnet/windscreen, the runners will appear as you go and make sure you've taped up the roof forward of the sunroof in case you scratch the paint

It seems like it can be either open or closed I do closed so it's easier to pop it out and makes the rails stiffer

But it's been confirmed to be shit job at best.

Ive just this minute come in from removing my whole sunroof had it out in about 5 mins although this one wont be refitted as its fucking rotten

anyway this is what i did

Open sunroof
Remove all the screws from the edge
Close roof
lift/push glass from inside and out it slides

Then you get pissed off because of all the rot you've just found and come in and try and find a new sunroof

Ha ha sounds a right arse!
I've just got mine back from having inner and outer seals and a few odd bits on the floor done so don't need to find any more rust lol.
I painted it black in place in the end

ive done mine a few times now and its a piece of piss imo. i can remove the whole thing in about half hour, its just alot easier with two people .
and im now in the process of fitting an electric roof in my saff,if you want to just take the glass out it can be done in situe which is a little harder to do , taking the sun roof out complete it depends why you want to take out the sun roof let me know and i can take a photo or two on what the easiest way is

I just took mine out mine was easy this time because all the screws etc were mint won't be going back in though got different ideas.

Did it ending with sunroof closed push it up and out, only issue is the winder not hitting the roof when pulling.

No need to change the whole mech for a electric roof you need all sierra parts and a spline from a mk 3 Granada which then allows you to bolt motor up to the std mech. then weld a couple of ears onto the sierra motor bracket to allow fitment of the cover. Job done.
