Default Have the 7 spokes had there day?

Hi Guys,

you know I love a good topic of conversation so do you think these wheels have had there day??? I have just bought myself a set of Comps because of that very reason! The 7 spokes look retro but would they suit my saff for shows? I will use the comps for track and everything else, just wondering if I should sell the 7 spokes??? Open to thoughts and would love to see your pic's!!

I think they are iconic! Especially the diamond cuts on a series 1. A good clean set look as good today than any other alloy does

Maybe these are more suited to a series 1 than a saff then??

I wouldn't say that as such. Soft lines look shit hot on saphs IMO. But finding a wheel that looks good nowadays is down to comps etc I reckon. I don't think they look out of place today as they ever have.

Only bad thing is the 7 spokes don't give you much scope for big brakes, comps ftw btw.

The wheels in the 1st pic look like soft lines to me, I had a set of these on my car (saff) for about an hour before taking them off and deciding to get rid. Diamond cuts on the other hand look very nice IMO.

I'm going to be running 330mm fronts and 300mm rears, hence why I bought the Comps, will the 7 spokes not fit now then? as I haven't had a chance to try them, that would be a ball ache as I was hoping to keep them as spares

I'm pretty sure that your car used to belong to a young lad near me.

I do like the RS7's and was considering them for my car years ago but it's a bit more difficult to get some decent brakes behind them.

I've got Comp MO's at the moment but really fancy a change but I can't find a wheel that toots my bugle really.

You can fit 330mm brakes behind RS7's on a 2wd car but not a 4x4.

Comps are shite, i hate mine

Really Paul? Wouldn't have thought you'd get 4pots behind tbh.

PS, Mo,s are on every other Saff ( awaits to be shot down)

No chance mate. I bought a set for mine originally but never fitted as i couldn't fit decent brakes behind them so ended up with comp mo's.

Id love a set of softies!

I think they suit the 80's-00's cars quite well but dont really do it for me on more modern cars.

Cant really justify the expense when the car is in peices
