Is this a prcatical application that you can give additional information, or just to know?

From what i've read they are good for 500 - 700bhp but i don't know what to believe, but as mentioned about the crank is likely to fail first.

I understand that there are to different weights of rods used in the cossie lumps, with a difference of 10grams. They are marked on the cap S and H but have no idea what the difference is in strength. I've just sold three rods marked H just the other day,but in my bottom end and a mates we have S? I'm interested to learn more about this if anyone has the answers. These engine are both 3rd 2wd engines only a year apart (according to the engine numbers). But one had rods marked H and the other marked S.

There are 3 different weight rods; Light, Standard and Heavy.

L = ? (don't have it, so can't give weight)
S = 679g
H = 688g

I'm guessing from the comment above that the ones marked "S" and the best? No power limit?

So are we saying that a set of S or H (which ever is strongest) shot peened are as good as say a set of Fardon rods? Im struggling to understand why if standard rods and that good why are they so many after market rods available. I appreciate that they are not longer made. Graham Goode is knocking genuine for rods on his webby for just sort of Ł150 inc vat. I wonder if they are S or H?

H are the ones to have according to tony at turbosystems and there is really no need to do anything with them as ford have done all the hard work for you !

The rod and cap is also numbered on the side and they should match as the cap will only fit that rod if the nos don't match it's scrap !

Ps there is 60g weight difference between L , S and H but they all have exactly the same dimensions
