Default Can you have to much oil flow ?

Can you have to much oil flow or pressure.I changed me stem steals a couple of times now,and oil still seems to seep past into the inlet and outlet.the head was only rebuilt about 5000 miles ago.Someone has told me ,because i have a high pressure oil pump ,it is filling the head up with oil,(which could be another reason i can't seem to stop oil seeping out of the gasket). When i take the oil cap of when it is running it does seem to have a lot of oil sloshing around. If this is the case would fitting an external oil cooler slow the flow rate slighty.

Sounds more like you've got a problem with valve guides to me!

oil should always drain quite quickely back to the sump, there should be quite a bit "flying about" but the head should never fill up....

as above, probs a problem with guides.

are the drain back passages blocked with crap/gunk?

All the guides are new,no gunk in head as it's all been rebuilt.it's not really a problem, it when it's been idling for about 10 minutes you get a slight puff from exhaust when you first blip it

Is this on a YB? Because a slight puff Is the least of your problems, if it don't puff it means it's empty!
Seriously 5000 miles on guides fitted poorly doesn't rule them out
You should be able to see cam lobes above oil level when running if it's over this the as all ready said the drains may be blocked

Sounds more like the turbo, do you have a dodgy turbo ?, there's np pressure as such trying to push oil past the seals, as the area under the bucket has plenty of air space around the spring so pressure doesn't build up, if it was a drain back problem, this would leave the sump too dry to keep up with pressure and the seals would be the least of the trouble.
