How do you un-do this fitting ? tried loads of times and cant shift it

I could be wrong but I'm sure you need a special tool to remove the factory fuel pipe

Easy, I use a jubilee clip, cut the nut bit off, then slide the clip up to the connector, then pull!

did mine like this came apart really easy.instead of the jubilee clip i used a 15mm copper olive.

Just like cozzy Jeffs pic Paul, there's a circular spring in the connector, so you need something ring shaped like a jubilee clip to realese it!

In practice the sprung ring fixing is quite loose, I found just a screwdriver ground a bit thinner was enough just dislodged the sprung bit to one side through the tiny gap and pulled, came off dead easy, I have the correct tools but mate had these at time.
