Smile t5 gearbox

hi
how noisey should a t5 gearbox be just had mine rebuild with quaife gearkit start it up
sounds like bucket of spanners it this right or do i have a problem any advise

It will certainly be noisey when driving with the whining of the gears, I have no experience of that kit but I would of thought at stand still it shouldn't really be.

If its a straight cut gear kit then they are noisy.

I've had mine built with a Quaife Gear-Kit by CTS but haven't used as yet.

What Oil have you put in the thing as they are supplied dry.

I know "Sucking Eggs" and all that but I thought I'd best ask the question.

Paul L. (North Yorkshire Cossie Breaker) runs or used to run one in his Track 3Dr and he said it was noisy

Hi
i throught it would be noisier than STD one
but this wrong it was rebuilt by cts and yes it's
fill with 75/90 millers oil

When I ask Paul L. about his car he did say the Box gave out more noise than the Exhaust !!!!!!

mines a fair bit more noisey than standard and seems to be getting more noisey but u should have no noise at all on start up?. Only a slight wine in 1st 2nd 3rd and 5th
