Does the trigger on the end of the cam need to be timed up and if yes how?
Cheers Rich

leave the dizzy in and time it the same as the phase sensor. i.e. line up one lobe of the phase sensor in the dizzy, and make sure the one on the cam is at 12 o clock.

obviously by turning the engine over by hand, then you can make sure the 2 lobe lines up too.

So if I time up the phase sensor on the dizzy then set the cam trigger to 12 o clock.
Do I set the first lobe on the cam trigger going clockwise to 12 o clock?

Just note which way the dizzy rotates and whether it is the first or second lobe that is lined up at the correct time, then note rotation of cam and do the same.

I've got no spark ruled out the CPS so it gotta be the WRC Cam Phase Sensor.
I want to make sure it timed up right how do I do it?
I've haven't got the old dizzy to go off so I need to know where the lobes need to be in relation to the rest of the engine timing.
Cheers Rich

But just looked at the inlet cam and one leg of the trigger is kind of lined up with the no1 cylinder lobes, and the other with no3 cyl lobes.

That looks more like mine.

I think the easiest thing to do is get/borrow another dizzy. Set the timing up correctly and get it running - then switch back to the cam phase sensor swapping the 2 wires around too.

How do you know the CPS is ok if it's not been running?

Just to be sure, you have plugged the cps and phase in the right way around?

what has actually been done since it was last running?

Bugger

IIRC the trigger pointers should be at 45 and 135 degrees after TDC on No1

When i swapped running gear over from B9KOS to H16KOS i also had probs with it sparking on cranking, but dropping to only 1+4

Turned out ignition amp had given up/got lazy as the problem come and went. Worth swopping them over for some none good ones.
