Default MOT time, panick!!

Had me MOT today, I was intrigued to see what the emissions were going to be, along with other stuff of course, the tester doesn't like fords, he drives a saab, and teased me about failing it for the bad oil leak, doing it this week.
Anyway, I thought 0.97% CO, and 137 PPM quite good for 160,000+ miles, on bottom end, top end rebuilt recently.
I don't know if it's getting older that does it but I just don't worry anymore, anyone else stop panicking as they get older ?, and become more laid back and chilled out ?

43 in a weeks time, old git, I'm 43 now, 9th sep I'm 44 !!
I used to get really nervous, my mates 2.8 capri just failed today at over 4% CO!!
He did moan about having to clean the floor of oil after the test, noticed the test routine said the abs light has to go out between 2 and 60 seconds after ignition on, he checks everything my tester, just the way I like it, just got advise on both front tyres fairly shagged.
I was well impressed with the emissions considering it's not closed loop either.

What MOT station did you go to, if you don't mind me asking?

Was it one in Brandon?

I don't use one in Brandon, I use one in Shipdham, Norfolk.
For any GREY injector doubters, my emissions were on GREYS at std fuel pressure, and in the city a lot of the time I rarely go over 1500/1700rpm, as this is my fave crawling speed, no plug fouling no nothing, can spend easily 6 hours of constant stop start traffic, fans on fans off, not even getting bothered the car, not too bad considering what some say about GREYS ?, I'm running IK27 plugs at 0.8mm gap, and Accel coilpack, with 3 ms coil on time.

Not from Uk but I also don't have any problem at all with greys and i have good emissions (0,3% CO on idle with the car having 110000Km) and good fuel economy with also iridium plugs but I allways hear problems with other people on greys... I think it's on the chip and/or tuner if it would be ok on greys...

Nobody should ever worry about the fuelling on little old greys, their resolution is no worse than greens. All overfuelling on correctly operating systems is 100% down to bad mapping.

I agree STU, just trying to offset some of the undeserved bad press greys get, tbh I am amazed at emissions for what it is, just shows the value of individual mapping with a few mods to get the best.

costina the days of "friendly" mot's are coming to an end, they are even going to be on CCTV when tested in the near future, as well as other things coming in, AIRBAG for one.
VOSA are around here doing a lot of spot checks, years ago the silly little things that they would help you with they can't anymore, VOSA have been waiting right outside the premises of some, a lot and taking cars straight back in and restesting, and been getting some VERY naughty people, the Ford galaxy that passed the brake test with flying colours despite having both rear calipers totally seized, it had already been sold to a mum with 4 kids, and a dealer wanted a quick sale, turns out he even added money to the sale for new calipers that were never fitted, not the place I use as they are strict but fair.
My dads car gassed me out when that went for mot, running around 6.5% at idle cough cough!!
Can't wait to rip the SU's off it and put the injection stuff on, it was actually stinging my eyes I had to go outside, even after I opened the doors at rear of car.
