problem with dash clocks (sapphire)

Default problem with dash clocks (sapphire)

hi guys,
i have a problem with my dials, when i turn on my sidelights the full beam (blue) light comes on but its dim then when i put the stalk up to dipped the light goes off and when i put the full beam on the blue light shines bright as usual. any ideas on how to sort this as its doing my head in...

The classic light leak, caused by the white material used for the clocks/light/bulbholders surround transmitting light, can be cured by taking clocks apart and painting inside where the bulbs go black, this stops stray light from nearby bulbs shining through.

i was checking it today again and the full beam bulb is dim as i said when the sidelights are on but it goes out when i take the bulb out so im thinking the problem lies with that bulb and not the surrounding bulbs...

When i put on full beam my oil light comes on

I would clean up the earths then in that case on the lights, the connectors in particular build up very high resistance.
