what would you do.......
my mate has had his sapphire cosworth for a couple of years now and only just noticed the vin numbers dont match the log book there are to letters in the middle that are diffrant, the rest is the same as the log book. he has been pulled by the police a few times and they have never said a thing. i said he should ring dvla but he dont want to open a can of worms.
he thinks who ever brought it over here (its imported from irland) must of did the paper work rong.
what would you do???
thanks

Make sure the numbers on log book were right, if so then get a new VIN plate stamped and put that on. Grind floor numbers out and say its had a floor pan thats why they aint under the carpet

PassionFord Post Whore!!
i took my cossie to germany,,, when the German Log book was issued the bint hit the VV instead of the BB (right next to each other on the key board)
i didnt pick this up untill i came back to britain, and went to the dvla , luckily the cr had never been properly unregistered here so i just applied for a new log book .
But imagine how that would have been had i handed in the German log and they checked against the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still got the German paper work, so effectivly have 2 cossies lol

i am a mot tester and see loads of cars with the wrong digits in the chassis numbers so its not an uncommon thing. give the dvla a ring and there is a form to fill in and send off. then they will want to see the car just to make sure the numbers havent been changed or tamperd with. then they just reissue you with the right number on the log book.
