Question saph radiator fan

Can anyone shed any light on why all of a sudden the radiator fan should switch itself on, this then causing the alarm to be triggered, or visa versa, obviously electrical just wondering if there was a common fault. Starts and runs fine, battery has plenty of power, key fob ok, stood overnight ok, then 8.30am all hell breaks loose. Any help would be much appreciated.

I had this on my car mate, its either the fan switch or the relay, check the relay 1st, its the easiest to change on my car relay is a little yellow one in the fuse box, might differ from yours

check the wiring on the o/s/f chassis leg under the turbo as it can melt and cause this problem

Also it could be the fan wiring shorting out. I had this and when i looked at the fuse box the space for the rad fan fuse was melted.
This was the tread:

I got a replacement fan wiring loom and it works great now!!
heres a link to it on ebay if you need one:

If you are running a std wiring set up for the fan, it needs ditching now anyway.
They were substandard when new, I would make up a little circuit, take about an hour or so, cost less than £10, easy to do.
It sounds like a relay is being a bit sensitive, and turning on when not energised(switched on), just tap the fan relay next time and it will stop if this is the case, but a rewire is defo the best bet anyway.
