Default New clutch time

My clutch is starting to slipp quite a bit, so its time to replace it, i currently have a Alcon 6 Paddle with a AP cover (though not a very heavy one) drives very nicelly but hasnt lasted too long, think this may be down to using the car everyday and being stuck in alot of stop/start traffic.

So what are my options? go the 6 paddle route again with a heavier cover? what are these like for day to day driving?

or an AP organic type? are these ok with around 330bhp?

Not too sure on this but does the h conversion prolong the life of the clutch and also makes it smoother? If so i would go Alcon 6 paddle with the Alcon heavy duty cover

rather than replace the clutch, you can just get your clutch re padded

dont forget to skim the fly too

you dont drive your taxi hard enough to need a new clutch,

personally fella if you can afford it i would go for the six paddle clutch, the heavier clutch cover then martins clutch conversion, easy to drive and will save you a fortune, and as martoon was the 1 that wasted your old cluthc he may even knock a fiver off

A hydraulic conversion will take away a massive amount of the effort needed, so I'd do that anyway, the feel is just so much better too.

dont quote me on this but i think its bout Ł350 then another Ł250 fitted,

on paper it looks like quite a lot of cash but i would have thought the savings you would make on clutches and the drivability of the car would make it worth it

the reason is in disks thickness imo. AP racing disk thickness is 8.5mm and AP cover good for using disk with this thickness. Alcon disk thickness 8mm, and with AP cover it don't have enough pressure, its not working range for AP cover.
