Guys
I want to upgrade my 2wd saff to stage 2 (330bhp). The motors just been rebuilt (200 block, low conp, arp etc) but still running a standard T3 (only done around 30k since overhaul). Age old question, I know the t3 will compress the necessary 21-24psi but how long before the 270 degree bearing calls last orders ????? Is it worth taking the risk ??? or just go for a t34 with .63 housing ???
Also is it worth upgrading to a breather system with catch tank etc
cheers
paul

Best bet would be a T34 with a .48 exhaust housing to make that sort of power.
When you say "low comp" how low ? - anything below 7.8:1 and I presume you intend increasing the power further at a later date ?
I would say that especially since you've just had the engine rebuilt, a proper breather is not essential, but it would still be a worthwhile mod.

I would go for a breather now as the std ford unit is marginal at best, anything over 310bhp/21psi and it will struggle. If you can get decent money for your T3 then sell it while its good, or trade in a poo item for the T34 later, the .48 ex housing is best for that bhp output, .63 for more bhp but will increase lag a touch more too.

turbotechnics are THE turbo people end of story, like anything you get what you pay for and with tt you get quality!!
mines a grp a t34 ar .60 comp housing, .55 e/h, rs500 80mm intake nose, anti lag compatible marham 247 shaft, ...... i was adamant with a "low lag" conversion hence smaller e/h![Wink](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
the back pressure on a .48 e/h is immense at 2 bar and will crack the ex manifold
my breather system/catch tank is a turbosystems unit
