Default electrics... what do all these have in common?

fuel pump, dash battery light, oil light, handbrake light, door ajar warnings (backlight for door ajar works ok), abs light, hazard flasher on dash (although indicator flasher works ok).

I now have fuel pump working But only when all the above are working too. If I wiggle the fusebox wires, sometimes the fuel pump decides not to work, or the dash lights, or niether, or both work.

any ideas?

ok. I have power to fuel pump always now.

tacho doesn't work.

fuse 22 is good, but then theres no power to fuse 22.

still no dash lights (inc abs light), or the fuel low/coolant low signals above clock, or bulb out/door ajar. do they all link into a warning box? and is this box just above the nearside kick panel? and is it possible the earth for this box isn't good?

reason I ask is I had a Granada with a dodgy earth pin to the ECU causing it to not start.

all these seem to run off power line 32. which comes from both ignition switch and ignition relay. she starts and runs ok. so could it be just part of the ign relay thats gone?

edit. I just took out the ign relay and it still started and ran. is that right?

ECU loom has nothing to do with the dash lights, or abs etc etc.

Souds like either a dodgy fusebox/wiring.

yup, it was the fuse box. well, the plugs that come in underneath.

I mentioned the granny ecu as an example. I thought if the warning module wasn't working, maybe an earth pin wasn't right.

anyhoos, doesn't matter now. all fixed.

now to weld up the Capri
