hi all, my mates xr2 was recently recorded as a cat b rite off, does anyone kno if we are able to put it back as an xr2 on the log book if we use another shell or will we need a genuine xr2 shell or if in fact we can rebuild his shell as its not too bad? any help would be gratly appreciated, cheers

 

or could we get round this by makin it a track car an gettin a msa log book an register it as a kit? relly dont wanna send another xr2 to the scrappy in the sky especially as its an early b reg

 

You can rebuild the shell youve got if its not too bad you just have to inform the dvla who may want to check the work over to make sure its been done properly but it will always say on the logbook that its been written off at some point.
If you reshell it it will take on the identity of the car your reshelling to

yeah that was wot i was gettin at, i heard u cant put a cat b back on the road, just a loss of a great car thats gettin ever rarer

 

cat b is a total loss mate that car / id can never go back on the road again

 

yeah thats wot i thought i just wanted it confirmin, just a great shame, oh well if anyone got a gen xr2 shell lol
