after months of putting it off now on the engine swap now the local authoritys are clamping down on all modifications and are now checking engine codes on anything that stands out so it looks like thats the ends of my hopes for the rst ka. the only option now is to do mods to the standard engine 1.3 (same as the ka) which i got from a ford fiesta.
so heres the list of whats in store.

any1 ever go about getting a carbon fibre spoiler???? i cant seem to find 1 or know where to get 1

always had a soft spot for modded ka's, especially with escos wheels.

very nice apart from the sticker bombed bonnet. i big no-no imo unless there are a few select parts also "bombed".

looks really clean for a rep too but as far ad the engine would it not be worth doing a sport car engine swap? or is insurance going to be a stinger? you can always sit on what you have for now and upgrade the engien at a later date.

 

thanx lad ya the insurance is a big issue and sport kas are rare in ireland only eva saw 1 around dublin so getting an engine wud be difficult. hoping to get around the 100 mark and then go supercharged at a later stage.

 

You could probably own a sportka for the price of the cossie wheels and tyres and the ford racing seats combined!

Props for going down a different route though, however i cant see the difference in having an engine swap to a highly modified endura engine

Still, i reckon strip the KA of the good bits and buy a sportka for the instant and legal power boost is the way to go. pound for pound youll get better gains on a 1.6 than a 1.3.

SWR do a manifiold, unichip and cam package for the Sport which makes around 120hp which is ideal if you're only looking for 100hp at the moment

My Mrs. has a SportKa engine in an 08 plate 1.3 with just the cam and unichip, it made 112hp with only mapping the ignition and you keep a catalytic converter

We've done this with it now though lol
