Default ST170 Bluefin

This is a stupid question I know but I'm going to ask anyway. Will a second hand bluefin plug in and work on my car if it's already been set for use on a ST170? And will I still be able to update it if required?

If it has been used on a car before, it will need to be reset by the people at Bluefin before it can be used on another car. Not sure on the cost, you would have to email them and ask.

I was dead lucky when I bought my 170 as it had a new bluefin in the box and worked a treat, reboot costs are not far off what they cost new

What do you think of the bluefin ie gains etc and would you say it's worth getting one? Current set up is standard with a K&N panel filter removed the res box off the air box and am looking to get an exhaust etc.

I felt it made the car run smoother and rev better with quicker response, I have not done much to my engine tbh, splitfire leads uprated coil pack denso plugs, pipercross ind kit and a ss exhaust sytem, and when it was on the dyno dynamics rollers it was 177 which I was over the moon with as most st170s are 160ish, I was dead lucky getting it with the car as the last owner p/x the st at a merc garage and the guy could not sell it until I made him an offer

I had one, you definately noticed something, it was a bit crisper but its not going to make a massive difference, you might see 5-7bhp on good fuel. I went with dreamscience in the end and that felt much better it got rid of the stutter ST's have at 2200rpm

Think the general opinion is to get dreamscience over bluefin. Everyone I've spoke to prefers the dreamscience. I fancy one on mine but think I'd be disappointed
