Default Focus ST Turbo issue

Hi lads,

On my ST lately the turbo pressure will stay at the very top and when you press the pedal you get no turbo but after a few seconds the turbo kicks in. Now it does not happen all the time but i cannot figure out the problem.

No whining noises from the engine, the turbo boosts, even had ford take a look when it was in for a service and they said nothing showing on computer and no pipes loose or cracked.

Any ideas?

cool thanks lads, dumb Ford as usual, i will order one from the UK and slap in in myself. Looks easy enough if you go in from under the engine.

So i have had the ESP error and now this, luckily i got the esp issue fixed for free.

Yeah i am looking at non ford replacements, also got a quote of over €1000 from Ford to fix a chip in the passenger door.

A UPC van chipped it and i caught him on CCTV so they have accepted they did the damage.

No chip company will touch the colour so UPC said to go back to Ford.

I dont think they realise the price to fix the EO paint as its a nightmare to match.

yeah i got rear ended last Jan and it took Ford 8 weeks and they had to fly in a paint specialist from Ford Germany to get the colour match right.

But over 1k to fix 1 chip is taking the mick. Thanks god i am not paying.

I used an Independent and the match is near perfect. That was after a rear end shunt as well. Glad I needed a new bumper as the laquire was peeling as well. Bonus!

well its not the solenoid got a new one fitted and still boost issues, no loose or cracked pipes, no errors on the computer either.

And when the turbo boosts it boosts and holds so does not seem to be an issue with the turbo.

The bumpers will never be 100% match as there plastic and the cars metal, therefore the paint drys at different rates.

local repairs are possible on the EO as i've seen it done but not many painters want to get involved.
