Wouldn't bother with denso's mate, lots of stories about failures of plugs which ends in tears, but it's either 24s or 27s but depends on engine spec. Stick to standard for items.

What are the best plugs to run so???I thought the Denso were the daddy of plugs to use, did not realise there had been some disaster stories!

Mods are Gen 2, forge re-circ, decat exhaust, tubular mani, DS Race +

As already said, Denso ITV20's are the ones to go for and a very good plug http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-4117-den...lug-itv20.aspx

Cheers

I'd stick with ITV-22's, spot on for mild modifications on the engine you'll inevitably put on. I had these in my Focus Turbo and old Focus RS, both over 300bhp.

Denso ITV 22 are for the standard engine not the 20's.

I have standard ford ngk's regapped to 0.8mm and i'm running 326bhp 401lbft with no issues.

According to Denso, ITV20s are the standard ones

ITV22s won't be a problem though

20's are for standard, 22's are for anything slightly over 300 bhp.

I've saw that before, its an american lad that said that 22's are for standard engine, he is into his denso plugs

Did you look at what it recommends for the st170? It wouldn't need a colder plug that the frs.

Sorry to jump the thread but is it better to stick to ford plugs or to use denso iridium or NGK platinum plugs on my 1.8.

Mine are due a change and wondered wots best go for? Iv got full exhaust and induction mods, plus Kent cams/verniers if this makes any difference

Thanks

Matt

Hi Matt

I'm not sure what plugs are originally in the car, but the Denso and NGK iridium plugs are very durable, especially if the engine has been modded.

Cheers
