I've had my ford focus for nearly three years now and the other day noticed a patch of fluid on the drive. Checked all the fluid levels and noticed the power steering fluid was low so topped it up went out for a drive and came back, checked under the car and noticed the fluid leaking again.

When I took the car into the garage the mechanic that looked at it said mine was the second focus in a week he had seen with exactly the same fault.

When he looked at my car he said there was also coolant in the spark plug bays

I wouldn't mind but the car has only done 34000 miles, I can't believe it power steering pump and has failed after not that many miles.

Got a quote from the garage and he said its going to cost nearly £600 to fix everything that is wrong

Has anyone else got a focus 1.6 on 05 plate I only had the spark plugs and washer jets replaced three months ago because they were leaking into the spark plug bays

 

never heard of coolant in spark plug bays

 

hi mate did my mates 05 16 c max only did 26000 miles had pump re conned cost 110 but when i refitted it could not stop it leaking from the pipe that goes in to pump found out a week later that ford had moddifed the pipe cost another 90 pound for a pas pipe then the two fanbelts are stretch fit needed ford belts that came with the tools to fit them WHAT A NIGHTMARE
