I believe my injectors may be blocked so i email ford for a quote on 4 new injectors they came back with £81.40 plus vat each, not paying that so what is the best way to clean injectors?

Thanks in advance

They need to be professionally cleaned ultrasonically.

following my haynes manual for fault finding, the car splutters alot over 50 mph, will splutter & backfire if i put my foot down from stand still. lacks power and over heat for a few secs if i do a constant 80 mph

I have looked for air leaks which i found on PCV Pipe? changed that, i have changed the oil + filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, ht leads, exhaust (complete) plus the lamba sensor, coolant emptied and flushed,

The spark plug wells have been filling with water which i know believe to be the core plugs which i will hopefully change tomorrow depending on the weather.

I'm out of ideas and injectors is next on the list unless you guys have other options?

Oh and it's a 2001 ford focus estate 1.6 Zetec & the engine management warning light is not on

What about coilpack? the zetec-se are common for eating them. Also make sure you only put a genuine one on, as the aftermarkets tend to spell melt down for the pistons.

You need to stop water getting around the plugs before you spend any money on any thing else.
That'll cause miss firing.

First option after that is coilpack.

Fuel pump is a common failure on the FRS. Also there is a breather pipe at the back of the engine that fails which causes similar symptoms. Try asking on the RSOC as there's a lot more FRS owners on there.

right i have changed the coil pack which i did at the salvage yard, caused all kinds of problems for the first mile, then relised i needed to reset ecu so pulled over on A147 and disconnected the battery for 15 mins, went on my way and it's shit loads better, still hesitates from a stand still if i need to give it a little, like pulling off from a roundabout but it seems to lose power whenever i take a right turn, mainly roundabouts, it pull till i start turning then if decreases in power then next to no power at all untill i strighten up then it just kicks in and im flying again seems odd but seems like lack of fuel so am guessing fuel pump? is there a way to test a fuel pump?
