Default zetec turbo agian!!

hi im new on here and have a few questions about a zetec turbo im building. (sorry 2 bore u about this again) owen my focys for 3 years need more power now. brought a 2.0 zetec and is now stripped.

im gonna be using a st170 head how do u go about blanking off the vvt?
im gonna be using piper cams for zetec turbos and was told to lose the vvt? any proplems using this??

also how do go about gettin the oil feed and return, then block off the breather. read loads about it but hope u can tel me straight.

will be using a st170 getag box, again told this bolts up no trouble. but was told by a yank it's only good for 280Nm?? surely not true?

and lastly what compression ratio shall i use?

hope u can help.

spec (until corrected) lol
2.0 blacktop
t3/t4 hybrid turbo
obx manifold
st170 head
piper cams/pulleys
focus rs valve springs
forged piston/conrods
pepper performance plenum
arp bolts
st170 gear box
omex 600
this is just a basic list for now.

thanks

why not just build a blacktop then ???much cheaper and easyer and better imo, with the right bits will do 350bhp easy.

p-s ive been running one for two years now.

How much you looking for one roughly?

I did mate but had another go at fitting it and its not as bad as first seemed. Was using a dummy block, but now the engine is built up and the inner wing was cut to clear I seemed to have gained a fair bit of room.

hi m8 it's goin fine got my block back today now rebored, gonna start rebuilding very soon next week or so i'll keep ya posted,
the spec list has changed a lot from the 1 i first put up,
gotta pectel t2 and loom for a start bined the st170 head vvt 2 much hassle gonna get the stanard 1 potred. st170 gearbox goin 2, focus rs 1 goin on.
accralite 2.1 pistons eagle rods.
bottom end rebuild first new oil pump, crank oil seals, p.e.c main caps/con rod caps.new sump and gaskets and arp con rod rod bolts for a start,

1 thing i would say is budget more than u think iv prob spent 2k so far and need stil need both manifolds. im not counting anymore it's depressin, luckily my best friend builds engines which is a bonus.

i'll keep ya up 2 date.m

sounds like your all sorted mate, cheers for the update it gives me more of an idea of which way to go. the st170 head sounds more hassle than its worth.
whats the reason you went for the pectel t2 insted?

just search 4 pectel t2 on here ur'll hear nothing but gr8 things.
it was designed for zetec engines that were used in formual ford single seater racing, a motorsprt spec ecu. i got mine 4 a bargin 700 quid for the ecu and loom.

the ecu cost that on it's own plus another 450 4 the loom.

hopin 2 have mine finshed in the car and then mapped by grove garage by march sumtime, then hit the track at fordfair.

thanks for info on the intake manifold - a bit of suprise as I've seen a 330HP FRS and 300HP Zetec 2.0 running on stock intake manifold without any problems...

i dnt fancy taking the chance lol, turbos run very very high temps and plastics melt.

a company called pepperperformance make metal inlet manifolds and plenums
they make them for kit cars but do short versions for road cars.
