Default Focus 1.6 Engine Problems

just recently blown my engine (just as good as) in my ford focus 1.6 zetec-s which had 80,000 millage, as i didnt fill up my oil level in time and bent the crank so i part ex my engine with a mate from his local garage and got new engine out of a wrote off car, only done 25,000 out of a y reg. focus but as its in my car it seems not to have the power it used to have, seems flat, also just fitted a ripspeed induction kit, seems a little better but still aint happy with it, i filled the oil level up and went a little over so its been burning away the excess oil , its just over now but would that affect the car at all, my mate said run some red ex so it cleans the injectors, and also it seems to be drinking petrol compared to my old engine could any1 help me out

Either the new engine has a different version of some of the sensor which are giving the ECU false readings. Or, one or more of the sensors are not connected up properly. Check all the wiring and connections and fault test the sensors. There is a guide here:

Crank position sensor gives a little trouble on these. About 30 Euro over here.

There is a guide to checking the CPS in the link I posted above. They only really give trouble when they get dirty.

I would say give it a good service new plugs and oil filter etc then run injector cleaner through the engine then give it a good blast to clear out the shit.

Well change your plugs and make sure you give it a good run up the motorway taking it to higher revs than you normaly would to open all the valves fully.
Has the engine been sat for a while?

All the sensors work on the same(5volts) reference signal.
With the excess oil you may have killed blocked the cat, they are not tollerant of this kind of thing.
In first instance check all sensord actually plugged in, reset KAM, clean MAF.
The holes in the CAT are less than 1mm in size, so you will almost certainly be looking at a new cat.
