With the crappy fuel thats about at the minute I am wondering if it would be beneficial for me to buy something like this to add to my fuel. Has anyone had any experiences with it or is it just a gimmick?

I think they mainly clean out the fuel system so the car will seem more reponsive and quicker etc. but i dont think there is any point using it all the time.
They sell more potent stuff in demon tweeks that claims to knock time off a lap time. i can see that doing a good job, but it aint cheap iirc

I wouldn't encourage using Octane improvers in your car regularly.
To get the most out of them, you should have the car set-up for the higher Octane. This is fine until the one time that you forget to put the additive in and melt your engine.
My car, for example, is mapped for normal Pump fuel. I used to put a bottle of Octane Booster in to give me a little added safety for Top Speed days, but I don't even bother with that lately.
Don't bother IMO.

my car is mapped for Optimax, i only used octane boosters when i have to use normal unleaded.
bit of a gimmick IMO that they make your car faster etc.

Increasing the Octane alone won't make much of a difference, but the improved Octane would allow you to run more Ignition advance before Detonation occurs.
Obviously most of us aren't really in a position to take advantage of this.
Obviously Race-fuel is a 'proper' way to do it, but not practical!!

thats what i meant....kinda.
adding Octane boosters won't make any noticeable difference unless mapped in accordance.
they are also really expensive! i bought this thing which looked like a little NOS bottle. i was almost embarassed when i bought it in Halfords! lol
