Default Engine managment

Who has after market engine managmant, Been thinking of ditching the Bosch K- (crap) tronic and converting to EFi, just wondered what was best. Mega Squirt looks interesting. My mate runs a 2Ltr zetec in his XR2 and uses omex managment to controle the motor which works well but seems alot more expensive? Not sure what to do any ideas

Hear Hear!!

Omex is good, but you pay more than some others. It has alot of features.

Also, a management system is only as good as the rest of the conversion (i.e. Compatability of other parts).

MoTeC for me is the ultimate, but thats alot of money.

Can't really fault the MS, but remember that any management is only as good as the guy who sets it up and does the tuning.

Suppose KE- jectronic is ok but im sick of buying bloody metering heads dont seem to have much luck with them. At nearly £100 a time second hand it gets expensive. Plus EFi seems to be more tunable from what i can gather. Am in the process of converting my mates xr2I to 2Ltr zetec and he is getting ideas of going all the way and turboing it. So could order two lots at the same time. The mega squirt seemed quite a good setup. i also read u can buy it in bits and solder it together yourself. Whats that all about?

there is just no comparison between mechanical fuel injection (ke-jectronic) and electronic fuel injection (efi) your car will run so much smoother more tunable on efi if you can afford to change mangement do so.. i rate omex very highly am trying to get my m8 to put the system on his cossie just cant beat the features, but like with everything you get what you pay for..

It has it's limits when you want to start fine tuning things, and doesnt have the features of other management systems.
