Default Boost Question ????

recently had my car s1 rst rolling roaded and boost turned up to 12 psi, but this is all i can get out of it as the bleed valve is fully wound out, i want to run more not to much just a little, the tuner said it was most prob chipped an put it down to dodgy bleed vavle, havent yet changed anything would like to no yr opinions before i have a fiddle.

cheers

As said above, bleed valves do tend to give fluctuating boost preddure i.e sometimes the turbo will boost higher than others. Your best bet is to whip off the bleed valve and fit a nice new -31 actuator and set the boost up on that. Should give u far more accurate boost control!!!

fair enough but i have bypassed the amal vavle an gone from turbo to actuator, so do i reconnect this an do away with the bleed vavle, already has a shinny -31 actuator is this adjusted by turning the rod inwards ie: makin the rod shorter, to increase boost,

cheers

Yes mate, u wanna put the amal valve back on and connect the hose from the actuator to that, in turn doing away with the bleed valve. Then as u said, wind the actuator rod in to get your desired boost pressure. As TONY TURBO said above tho, electronic boost controller is the ideal way to go, and i've just bought one as it happens!

No probs mate, i've just bought a Greddy Profec Bspec 2 boost controller, set me back £210 so not that cheap i spose! Sayin that it's by no means the most expensive one on the market! I got it from Norris Designs who are jap car specialists but go on ebay and u can get em brand new for a good price. Haven't fitted mine yet but to be honest it does look like it's gonna be a bitch to fit and setup, so u'd be better off gettin someone in the know to do it for ya really.
