Performance gains by MoTech?
Anyone know what sort of gains (if) u would experince, powerwise?
Havent gone the full distance with mods on mine yet but considering the price for this system, the trickness and all the goodies it gives i would seriously invest the cash....however are there any power gains or is it all just for better management?

The general rule is the more you pay for an ECU the easier it is to Map. Motech will practically Map itself. With a decent mapper you won't get any gains from something top of the tree like Motech when compared to something alot cheaper.
Motech is fucking expensive! And all the "toys" are an extra add on.

Depends on who you want to fit and Map it really, what do they like.
Personally I an using Omex 710 and that is good enough for me, has lots of features built in too, ALS, Full Throttle Gearshift, Launch Control, Nitrous Control etc.
I can't remember all of them. Best off speaking to APT if you are interested as they are one of the biggest Omex dealers in the country. Details in my sig.

MoTeC is fantastic, but most people run a mile when you mention Ł1500 odd for the ECU.
It is serious management and what you get is something that is capable of running the car very nicely. They have it all sorted. For example, Gary just fitted a set of 1000cc Injectors to his Evo and after a slight change to the calibration, the cars runs quite happily. OK, so it needs a full remap, but its fairly close having made this global adjustment. Cheaper management systems will have sacrifices in this area.
Whereas the like of Omex/DTA/Gotech etc all undoubtedly have their issues.
I, like Tony, run Omex 710 (Omex's flagship ECU). It is great for what we want. However, with management, the driveability side of it requires alot of time (and therefore money) investing in it to make it great. The full-power side can be mapped in a fraction of the time that it takes to make it nice off-boost.
Omex 600 would be a nice ECU for an RST. It is not as feature packed as Omex 710, but most of the important stuff is there, such as ALS. This ECU is around Ł700 inc VAT and loom. On top of this are fitting and mapping costs, which normally come to around Ł700 ish, depending on exactly how much there is to sort out and how much time we spend on driveability. Auxillary features cost extra to set up.
The important thing to remember with management is that manufacturers employ teams of experts who spend MONTHS writing management software for new cars and very often aftermarket customers expect a car that runs like a new car with the mapper only having been allowed a day or so to map it. Also, alot depends on the quality of all the other components, such as (on an RST) the EFi conversion.
Hope this helps.
