Default adjusting boost...

hi peeps just wondering if adjusting boost via shortening the actuator rod is a harsh way of adjusting it? Boost will only be going up about 2psi

i have heard that by using this method the preload on the actuator will be too much?

oh its a standard turbo and a standard actuator...

is rejetting the amal valve a better way? if so how big do u jet it to? only looking for 10psi...runs about 7.5psi at the moment

cheers

With regards to upping the boost just leave it alone and have it done by a tuner that knows what they are doing. You need the fuel to match the boost and if you get it wrong it ends in expensive tears

Oranoco fuel is all good and there is plenty of fuel there however its just a general enquiry really as some people say that it is from the actuator that you are meant to adjust boost from while others say amal valve?

YOU STILL NEED TO ADJUST THE FUEL EVEN IF YOU USE A BLEED VALVE.

basically, you should keep the preload in a certain region. The minimum should be half a hole, the max depends on lots of factors. You know it's too much, as there will be boost creep in the higher gears/rpm levels, where the wastegate just isnt open enough.

Rick.

I'd usually just adjust by the actuator....but for the sake of upping the boost limit on your unchipped car for the extra couple psi mate I really wouldn't worry for now!

Like you say wait for your proper engine
