Default 5th injector setup

I have bought 2 adjustable boost operated switches which I want to use for an intercooler spray and a fith injector.

I have sorted the intercooler spray one out but was wondering if anyone has wired their cold start valve to act as a fith injector on boost. I am looking at the injector starting to work at around 15-17psi with the use of the boost operated switch I have an idea of how to wire it up but was wondering if I can still use the cold start valve for its normal use. Obviously I will be getting it setup once everything is installed and working.

Cheers
Dave

i have my cold start valve disconnected and it starts fine in the morning,

other way is, wire your boost switch up to it like u say, but on the wires what go to the switch run a on/off switch to your dash and turn it on manually in the morning

the boost switch will still work at pressure, and also being turned on by the dash switch

I'll give that a go. Hopefully gonna sort it this weekend all being well. With your intercooler spray what kind of jet did you use to spray the water. I have got a set of headlight wiper jets from a Volvo but could do with a finer spray if possible?

how much fuel will codlstart valve make up for?

Ive got mine all wired up but have yet to use it as i only run 14psi at mo was thinking of having it kicking in at 14 to fuel up to 17psi reckon it give 3 psi,s worth of fuel on boost?

Once i get a working amal valve i can 2 stage boost and hopefully 5th injector aswell.

I'd like to know this aswell how much extra boost should I be able to run with the cold start valve wired up. Once I get mine setup I'm gonna take it somewhere to get checked to make sure everything is working to how it should be.

Cheers

i have utilised my cold start valve for 5th injector via boost switch, also ran a LED inside the car so i know when the system is alive.
I found the best ic ws jets are from a VW passat golf etc as they are a mist spray pattern

The standard KE-Jetronic can fuel fine for 18psi as that's what mine was set at and was good as gold. Only added my 5th injector as I was feeling silly and 25psi seemed like a good idea. 18 months on with no breakdowns I'm pretty happy that it was a good idea

Thats a good idea putting a light inside. I'll keep my eye out for some washer jets from a VW. Thanks for the advice so far. Much appreciated.

i wouldnt bother personally having a fifth injector in at that low boost (14psi) waste of fuel, take it to a tuner and let them adjust your fueling up to 18 psi, without the need for 5th injectors etc

dont expect to much fuel from the cold start valve either, compared to a mf2,

remember a 5th injector is normally the last resort on mfi till a suitable upgrade is found ie efi, cossie, ect, its only needed when the mfi unit cant cope any further and thats normally beyond 18psi

i run no 5th injector on mine, at 21psi and mine doesnt pink (but i have increased fuel pressure)

hope this helps

Hi mates... got a question bout a 5 th injecter set up....

I have a S2 wit a 1900cc, uprated head, a cv37 and T3 trim 60, and I would like get just above the 250bhp mark..., I running low boost at the moment... but, I would like to end up driving wit about 1,5bar... (dont know how many psi that is)

I talked with a danish tuner... and he adviced me to ditch the 5.th injecter, and have my std inlet manifold modified to fit 4 extra injecter.. and have them controlled by my Mf2..

his reason for doing this, was that he said, wit a 5 th injecter that sits before your throttle body, you cant control if every cylinder gets the same amount of fuel

what do you think of this idea...??

my metering unit is modded doggydowg, via the pressure actuator, saves messing about installing extra injectors etc,

people say it makes fuel econmony very bad, but mine hasnt made a noticable difference i get 210 miles out of 35 quid of optimax at town driving
